A Court of Thorns and Roses
This project was for my kinetic typography class at SCAD. The ask was to create a title sequence for a book (that has not been made into a movie). The challenge of this project was that since it was a book, we would not have reference images already prepared and would instead have to think of imaginative ways to use type, motion, and images to capture the story. I chose A Court of Thorns and Roses, the first in a series by Sarah J. Maas, one of my favorite authors. This sequence was created in Adobe After Effects.
Mood Board and Inspiration
I chose to keep to mostly red color scheme, and incorporated rose elements throughout the sequence. I utilized masking, mattes, and time manipulation to get the desired effect, as well as other compositing methods. Asset creation was done in Photoshop and Illustrator.
